Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Law Mind collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, applications, and services. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. What We Collect
We may collect: account information (name, email, login credentials); billing information processed through payment providers; prompts, questions, uploads, and other content you submit; AI-generated outputs, conversation history, and usage activity; and technical data such as browser type, device information, IP address, and service logs.
We do not collect precise geolocation data or biometric data.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to: operate the Service; authenticate users and detect fraud; process payments; maintain conversation history; diagnose technical issues; improve quality using aggregated and de-identified data; communicate about your account; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.
3. No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. AI Model Training — We Do Not Train on Your Data
We do not use your prompts, uploaded documents, conversation history, or AI-generated outputs to train, fine-tune, or develop our AI models or those of any third-party provider. Your research activity is your business, not our training data.
5. Confidential and Privileged Materials
We recognize that users may handle confidential, privileged, or sensitive legal materials. We take reasonable steps to protect confidentiality consistent with industry standards. However, the Service involves third-party infrastructure and AI processing.
Important for attorneys: Submission of privileged information to the Service does not create an obligation for The Law Mind to maintain privilege. You are responsible for evaluating whether use is consistent with applicable professional responsibility rules.
6. Third-Party Providers
We use Anthropic for AI processing, Cloudflare for website delivery, Microsoft 365 for account email, Square for billing, and Kit for account and subscription email lists. Citation lookup, page resources and optional features involve additional services. Provider roles and retention differ. We do not share identifiable User Content with advertisers. Read how Law Mind handles your information for the data sent, sharing and deletion behavior, and provider policy links. These implementation details were reviewed September 16, 2026.
7. Data Retention
We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service. Account deletion removes private research and uploads within a reasonable time, subject to legal and operational requirements. Shared firm matter records are retained for authorized firm members; deleting a personal account does not delete the firm's shared records.
Provider-held records, such as payment records, email-list subscriptions and mailbox copies, have separate retention and deletion processes. Account removal does not automatically erase those records. Our data-handling details distinguish the implemented retention schedules and the records without a single fixed expiry.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and operational safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and security monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and you use the Service at your own risk.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access, correct, or delete your personal information; export your data; update account information; cancel your subscription; or request account deletion. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.
10. Cookies
We use cookies for authentication, session management, and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We also keep first-party product activity counts, such as opening saved research or a library document. These daily counts include the account, feature and action, but not questions, answers, document identities, source URLs, IP addresses or uploaded text. This activity-count history is retained for up to 90 days and removed on account deletion. Other records described in this policy have their own retention purposes.
11. Children
The Law Mind is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or via email.
