Open the authority behind a reference
The Table of Authorities groups recognized references by type. Resolved entries let you open available library documents. Sources also shows retrieved material, which may be broader than the authorities actually cited in the answer.
Check identity and quoted text
Recognized citation formats are matched to source metadata. Case-name checks and quotation comparisons are performed where supported. Review unresolved references, unpaired quotations and unavailable checks. Streamed answer text may appear before checking finishes.
Investigate later treatment
Mind’s Eye surfaces negative-treatment signals from available citing material. Read which proposition was affected, by which court and when. An absence of adverse treatment in the checked material is not a certification of current law or an exhaustive citator result.
Check the edition and relevant date
The library includes state and federal material, with coverage and update status varying by collection. A source snapshot date describes the checked edition; it may differ from an enactment date, effective date or the period relevant to your question. Nationwide completeness and currency remain under assessment.
Use formatting tools as drafting assistance
Professional tools include citation formatting and review, including available Bluebook and Texas Greenbook modes. Review the applicable court’s requirements and any missing source metadata. Formatting assistance does not establish the authority’s legal weight.
Come back to the answer you saved
My Research preserves completed answers and their saved citation assessments. Source links currently open the document available in the library. When revisiting an old answer, confirm the source edition and any later developments before using it.
