How The Law Mind Works — and Why You Can Trust It
The Law Mind combines a public legal library with AI research, source inspection and citation checks. You can review the authorities behind an answer and see unresolved citations or quotation warnings.
What The Law Mind actually is
The library contains case law, statutes, regulations, court rules and legal definitions across state and federal collections. Every result carries its citation, its source edition and its date, so you can read the authority itself.
Every answer lists the sources it used. Open them alongside the answer to see the court, the dates and how the authority applies to your facts.
Who’s behind it
The Law Mind wasn’t built by a legal publisher or a room full of venture capital. It was built by a father and his son.
Folks call the dad Mountain John — a lifelong builder and tinkerer who spent the better part of a year teaching himself to assemble a public legal corpus and wrap it in an AI assistant with source retrieval and citation checks. He built it for a simple reason: he watched how the law works for people who can’t afford a lawyer, and it made him angry enough to do something about it.
His son, Gk, runs it now under GK Holdings. What started as a father’s project became something they’re building into a real business — one that earns its keep and actually helps people.
That’s the whole team. Small, independent, and stubborn about one thing: the law belongs to everyone, and the people who can’t afford $400 an hour deserve the same real access to it as the people who can.
How it works
1. Retrieve sources. The assistant receives passages from the legal library to help answer your question. Inspect the sources to confirm their relevance.
2. Check citation identities and quotations. Supported citation formats are matched against source metadata. Quotation checks compare quoted passages with source text. Unresolved, unpaired and unavailable checks remain visible.
3. Inspect treatment. Mind’s Eye identifies negative-treatment signals in available citing material. Examine their scope and date; a case can be limited on one proposition without every holding being displaced.
4. Read the authorities. Open cited sources alongside the answer and use the Table of Authorities to review the research.
5. Check jurisdiction and dates. Every source shows its court, its edition and its date, so you can confirm that the authority applies to the relevant court, facts and date.

Our mission
The law is public. It belongs to everyone. But understanding it has always required a lawyer most people can’t afford — which means the people with the most money have always had the most access to their own rights.
