Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(f), in an emergency and upon the concurrence
9
of the chief judges of the districts involved, a United States magistrate judge may
10
be temporarily assigned to perform any of the duties specified in subsections (a),
11
(b), or (c) of this section in a judicial district other than the judicial district for
12
which he or she has been appointed.
13
Due to an emergency resulting from the recusal of all currently serving
14
magistrate judges, the Western District of Washington has certified the need for
15
magistrate judge assistance from the Eastern District of Washington.
16
Therefore, IT IS ORDERED, with the concurrence of the Honorable
17
Stanley A. Bastian, Chief United States District Judge of the Eastern District of
18
Washington, United States Magistrate Judge Alexander C. Ekstrom is hereby
19
designated to hold court and perform any and all judicial duties designated under
20
28 U.S.C. § 636, subsections (a), (b), and (c), in the Western District of

1 Washington, related to a criminal complaint in which the victim is a United States
2 Probation Officer assigned to the Western District of Washington.
