Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(f), in an emergency and upon the concurrence
17
of the chief judges of the districts involved, a United States magistrate judge may
18
be temporarily assigned to perform any of the duties specified in subsections (a),
19
20 (b), or (c) of this section in a judicial district other than the judicial district for
21 which he or she has been appointed.
22 Due to an emergency resulting from the unavailability of currently serving
23
judges able to hear a particular case, the Western District of Washington certifies
24
GENERAL ORDER 02-25
1 the need for magistrate judge assistance from the Eastern District of Washington to
2
preside.

Therefore, IT IS ORDERED, with the concurrence of the Honorable
4
Stanley A. Bastian, Chief United States District Judge of the Eastern District of
5
Washington, United States Magistrate Judge Alexander C. Ekstrom is hereby
6
7 designated to hold court and perform any and all judicial duties designated under
8 28 U.S.C. § 636, subsections (a), (b), and (c), in the Western District of
9
Washington, to preside over Case No. MJ24-803 USA v. Austin Michael Hauth
10
and any subsequent indictment that may be filed related to said case.
