(a) Scope and Purpose. These local rules are in addition to and supplement the Federal Rules of
Criminal Procedure.
(b) Applicability of Rules of Civil Procedure. The Local Rules of the United States District
Court for the District of Vermont and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, to the extent that they
are applicable directly or by analogy, govern criminal procedures unless they conflict with any
United States statute or a Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure. If a conflict exists, the statute or
Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure governs. Any party asserting a conflict must call it to the
Court’s attention in writing and suggest an equitable resolution.
