PURSUANT TO 28, UNITED STATES CODE, SECTION 631(a) and in

accordance with actions taken by the Judicial Conference of the United States, the full
time United States Magistrate Judges for the Eastern District of Tennessee, sitting at
Knoxville, are hereby authorized to serve in the adjoining Western District of North
Carolina, and the full time United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of
North Carolina, sitting at Asheville, is hereby authorized to serve in the adjoining
Eastern District of Tennessee for the purpose of carrying out the duties specified in 28,
United States Code, Section 636(a)-and 18, United States Code, Section 3401, to the
extent that such duties are exercised in connection with matters arising from the
operation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The Clerk of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of
Tennessee shall forward a certified copy of this Order to the Director of the
Administrative Office of the United States Courts, Washington D.C., and Jason Houck,
