Each full-time, recalled, and part-time United States magistrate judge appointed by
this court is specifically designated to exercise the authority and jurisdiction provided by 18
U.S.C.§ 3401(a) to try persons accused of, and sentence persons convicted of,
misdemeanors committed within this district.
