A majority of the judges of this Court, by mail vote taken pursuant to Fifth Amended
Administrative Order No. 95-22, approve that the draw be changed so that all
Magistrate Judges draw an equal number of social security/habeas cases, regardless of
whether the District Judge assigned to the case sits in the Eastern or Western Division.
To accomplish this, the Magistrate Judge draw for these cases should be from a single
deck. This change in the draw will alleviate the need to continually adjust dockets as
circumstances change and, more fundamentally, would result in an equitable
distribution of these cases.
