ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
WHEREAS, the Court Security Committee of the U.S. District Court for the District of
New Mexico has recommended the closure to the public of the Pete V. Domenici and Las Cruces
U.S. Courthouses to facilitate the presentation to the courthouse tenants of the Active Shooter
– Active Threat training program by the U.S. Marshals Service’s National Center for Judicial
Security.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Las Cruses U.S. Courthouse will be closed to the
public at 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 18, 2023, until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Pete V. Domenici U.S. Courthouse will be
closed to the public at 12:00 noon Thursday, April 20, 2023, until 8:00 a.m. Friday, April 21,
2023, and at 12:00 noon Friday, April 21, 2023, until 8:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED all scheduled proceedings, including non-jury and jury
trials, shall be adjourned for the afternoon of each courthouse closure, respectively. Access to
the federal courthouse shall be restricted to authorized personnel only during the training period.
