ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
President Biden issued an Executive Order on Providing for the Closing of Executive
Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government on December 24, 2024. Pursuant to Section
1 of the Executive Order, all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall
be closed and their employees excused from duty on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the day before
Christmas Day. Following the lead of the executive branch, the U.S. Supreme Court will be closed,
the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts will be closed, the Tenth Circuit Court will be closed,
and this Court will be closed. To the extent that any time sensitive hearings are scheduled,
including initial criminal dockets in Albuquerque and Las Cruces, the presiding judicial officer
will determine how those will proceed.
The President’s Executive Order declares that December 24, 2024 will be treated as a
holiday for federal leave purposes.
