AND DESIGNATION OF
MAGISTRATE JUDGE 21-MC-00004-16
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that there is a need in the District of New Mexico for a
temporary, emergency intracircuit assignment of a magistrate judge due to a conflict with all the
judges in the District of New Mexico. Chief Magistrate Judge Kelly H. Rankin has been
designated as the pre-trial judge in civil case number 21-cv-00445.
WHEREAS, the HONORABLE KELLY H. RANKIN, Chief Magistrate Judge of the
United States District Court of Wyoming, with the concurrence of the HONORABLE SCOTT W.
SKAVDAHL, Chief Judge of the United States District Court of Wyoming, have consented to such
designations and assignments;
THEREFORE, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(f), I do hereby assign and designate the
Honorable Kelly H. Rankin to serve temporarily as magistrate judge in the District of New
Mexico for the period beginning May 14, 2021 and until the assigned case is terminated. He is
authorized to hold court and perform any and all judicial duties designated under 28 U.S.C. 636,
subsections (a), (b) and (c), in the District of New Mexico during the pendency of the case
assigned to him.
