PROCEDURES FOR COMMITMENTS ) ORDER
UNDER 18 U.S.c. § 4248 )
In all proceedings arising under 18 U.S.C. § 4248 (§ 4248) filed after the date of entry of
this order and assigned to the undersigned, the terms and provisions announced in the Court's
Standing Order entered November 14,2011, 11-S0-4, shall apply except insofar as they are
inconsistent with the following:
1. Upon the filing ofa commitment action pursuant to § 4248, or within ten (10) days of
so doing, the government shall move for the appointment of an examiner, as that term is
defined in 11-S0-4, of its choosing.
2. Upon receipt of a certification pursuant to § 4248 and the government's motion to
appoint an examiner, the undersigned shall enter a preliminary order setting deadlines and
appointing the first examiner.
3. Respondent shall move for the appointment of an examiner, as that term is defined in
11-S0-4, of its choosing within fourteen (14) days of the undersigned's appointment of
the first examiner.
