Federal law establishes public holidays for federal employees, including Thanksgiving
Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. These holidays are celebrated through the closure of
the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Thanksgiving Day will be observed on Thursday, November 27, 2025. In extended
observance of this holiday, the court's offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 26, 2025,
and remain closed through Friday, November 28, 2025.
Christmas Day will be observed on Thursday, December 25, 2025. In extended observance
of the Christmas holiday, the court's offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, 2025,
and remain closed through Friday, December 26, 2025.
New Year's Day will be observed on Thursday, January I, 2026. In extended observance
of the New Year holiday, the court's offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025,
and remain closed through Friday, January 2, 2026.
