Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that Ms. Kathleen L. DeSoto is appointed as
a full-time United States magistrate judge at the salary fixed by the Judicial
Conference of the United States with her official duty station designated as
Missoula, Montana. Ms. DeSoto shall enter upon the performance of her duties at
12:01 a.m. on August 3, 2019, but prior to the commencement of such duties, she
shall take the oath of office prescribed by 28 U.S.C. §§ 453 and 631(g), and 5
U.S.C. § 3331. Upon recitation of the oath, the Court will execute the formal order
of appointment (Form AO 79A).
Ms. Kathleen L. DeSoto, upon appointment to the office of United States
magistrate judge, is to hold and discharge the duties of her office for a term of
eight (8) years from the date of her appointment, subject to the provisions of 28
U.S.C. § 631(c), unless sooner removed pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §631(e).
The clerk of this Court is directed to notify the Director of the
Administrative Office of the United States Courts, the Circuit Executive of the
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the judicial officers of this Court of the entry
of this Order.
