At a recent judges meeting, a proposal to assign prisoner civil rights and state habeas cases
to the magistrate judges of this district was approved. To incorporate the procedures set forth
in Administrative Order No. 21-MS-042, the civil case draw must be amended.
IT IS ORDERED that effective July 1, 2021, the civil draw shall be amended to assign
Southern Division prisoner civil rights and state habeas cases in equal shares to the Southern
Division magistrate judges, and similarly, the Northern Division prisoner civil rights and state
habeas cases shall be assigned to the Northern Division magistrate judge.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
