JUDGE PAIRINGS

WHEREAS Magistrate Judge Joseph G. Scoville has announced his retirement, effective
July 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS the District Judges of this Court have unanimously appointed Phillip J. Green
as a Magistrate Judge of this Court, effective August 1, 2014; and
WHEREAS an orderly transition is in the interest of the Court and all litigants;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED as follows:
Effective August 1, 2014,
A. Magistrate Judge Phillip J. Green will be paired with District Judges
Paul L. Maloney and Robert Holmes Bell for all southern division civil cases filed
on and after August 1, 2014.
B. All pending civil and criminal matters, heretofore referred to
Magistrate Judge Joseph G. Scoville are referred to Magistrate Judge Phillip J.
Green, with the following exceptions:
All matters originating from 2001 - 2006 criminal cases will be
reassigned to Magistrate Judges Brenneman and Carmody pursuant
to an approved procedure, as Magistrate Judge Green is automatically
disqualified from such matters.
All matters originating from 2001 - 2006 civil cases wherein the
United States Attorney has entered an appearance will be reassigned
to Magistrate Judges Brenneman and Carmody pursuant to an
approved procedure, as Magistrate Judge Green is automatically
disqualified from such matters.
Any civil or criminal matter originating from 2007 cases and beyond,
wherein the United States Attorney has entered an appearance, will
be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Magistrate Judge Green to
determine whether recusal is necessary or reassignment to Magistrate
Judge Green is appropriate.
C. Any post-judgment matters that arise in any civil or criminal matter
previously assigned or referred to Magistrate Judge Scoville will be automatically
reassigned by the Clerk’s office to Magistrate Judge Green, subject to the exceptions
noted above.
