JUDGE MAARTEN VERMAAT Order No. 26-AP-055

WHEREAS the current term of United States Magistrate Judge Maarten Vermaat will
expire on March 14, 2027; and
WHEREAS pursuant to Title 28 United States Code, Section 631(f), a majority of the
active district judges of the Western District of Michigan, with the approval of the Judicial Council
of the Sixth Circuit, have voted to extend the current term of Magistrate Judge Vermaat until his
successor is appointed, or for 180 days beyond the expiration of his current term of office,
whichever is earlier;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that Magistrate Judge Vermaat’s term
extension is effective March 15, 2027, and may not exceed September 10, 2027.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
