All exhibits in criminal cases in the custody of the Clerk must be maintained for purposes of appeal
and post-conviction relief until any sentence imposed has been fully satisfied. At the discretion of
the presiding judge, any physical exhibits may be released to the custody of the government pending
satisfaction of the sentence. In such case, a photograph of each exhibit must be retained by the
Clerk as a substitution for the physical item in the record.
