E.D. La. Standing Order — Early Disposition or "Fast Track" Program

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT EASTERN DISTRICT OF LOUISIANA ORDER Pursuant to a unanimous vote of the active judges of this court, IT IS ORDERED that, the Attorney General of the United States having authorized an Early Disposition or "Fast Track" Program for the sentencing of defendants convicted of certain offenses in accordance with '5K3.1 of the United States Sentencing Guidelines, an Early Disposition or "Fast Track" Program be adopted by this court. The sentencing judge may order a modified Presentence Investigation Report and may sentence the defendant on an expedited basis within different time limits than those prescribed in Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 32. The court shall be permitted to do so only upon the entry of a guilty plea by a defendant deemed eligible for the Early Disposition Program and if the defendant entered into an agreement with the United States pursuant to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 11(c)(1)(C). Sentencing for defendants for whom the judge determines that '5K3.1 is applicable shall generally be scheduled to take place within six weeks of the defendant's entry of an 11(c)(1)(C) guilty plea. The modified Presentence Investigation Report will be disclosed to the court and interested parties one week prior to the scheduled sentencing date. New Orleans, Louisiana, this 29th day of January, 2015. SARAH S. VANCE, Chief Judge
