INRE: RELEASE OF PRESENTENCE REPORTS
The Chief J>robation Officer, Kathryn Jarvis, hac:; informed t~e Court that her office frequently
receives requests for a Prescrttence Rep()rt (PSR) frQm the attorney ofrecord for a .defendant ·c>n appeal
or at a revocation hearing who is not the same attorney who represented the defendant at sentencing.
Her office periodically also receives requests for PSRs from the office of the' United States Pardon
Attorney in the colirts of its review of requests for executive clemency. As such, she, requests
authorization to release a defendant's PSR to lthe defendanf s current attorney of record; or United
States Pardon Attorney, withoutfirst seeking leave of the Colirt;
IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED that those probation officers so authorized by the Chief
Probation Otlicer may release a defendant's presentence report to an attorney of record who is
representing a defendant on appeal, at a revocation hearing or on any other post-sentencing matter, or
. to the United States Pardon Attorney, without first seeking leave of the Court.
