UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT CENTRAL DISTRICT OF ILLINOIS INRE: ) ) APPOINTMENT OF A CHIEF ) BANKRUPTCY JUDGE FOR THE ) CENTRAL DISTRICT OF ILLINOIS ) ORDER The Central District of Illinois has adopted the practice of rotating the Office of Chief Bankruptcy Judge among the bankruptcy judges in the District. The purpose of such rotation is consistent with the requirement that the Chief Judge ofthe District Court serve a limited term so that both the burdens and the benefits of the Office of Chief Judge may be shared equitably by the active judges in the District. This Court, acting en banc, finds that the policy of rotating the Office of Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court will be beneficial to the administration of the Bankruptcy Court of this District and further finds that a period of seven (7) years is an appropriate term for the Office of Chief Judge. WHEREFORE, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 154, it is ORDERED that Mary P. Gorman, Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court, is hereby designated Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of Illinois, effective January 1,2013 to December 31,2019. The Clerk of this Court is directed to send certified copies of this Order to the United States District and Bankruptcy Judges of this District, to the Circuit Executive of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeal; the Administrative Office of the United States Courts; and to any other parties as my be directed. The Court also takes this opportunity to commend the Honorable Thomas L. Perkins, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of Illinois, for his years of faithful and efficient service as Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court.
