S.D. Fla. Standing Order — Order of Suspension of Attorney Lee David Sarkin Florida Bar

Case 1:26-mc-23967 Document 4 Entered on FLSD Docket 07/22/2026 Page 1 of 2 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA CASE NO. 26-MC-23967-ALTONAGA ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 2026-60 tah IN RE: LEE DAVID SARKIN FLORIDA BAR # 962848 _______________________________/ Jul 22, 2026 ORDER OF SUSPENSION WPB On June 4, 2026, the Supreme Court of Florida suspended Lee David Sarkin from the practice of law. See Fla. Bar v. Sarkin, No. SC2025-0448, SC2025-0451, 2026 WL 1601848, at *1 (Fla. June 4, 2026). The suspension was predicated on a Conditional Guilty Plea for Consent Judgment [ECF No. 2] Mr. Sarkin entered in connection with fraud on the court. (See generally id.). In his July 1, 2026 Letter [ECF No. 3], Mr. Sarkin notified the Court of his suspension and provided a copy of the Supreme Court of Florida’s order suspending him from the Florida Bar. (See generally id.). Under Attorney Rule 9(b) of the Southern District of Florida Rules Governing the Admission, Practice, Peer Review, and Discipline of Attorneys, “[a]n attorney” who is “suspended . . . on consent . . . with the bar of any other court . . . while an investigation into allegations of misconduct is pending” shall “cease to be permitted to practice before this Court and be stricken from the roll of attorneys admitted to practice before this Court until further order of the Court.” S.D. Fla. Att’y R. 9(b) (alterations added). When an attorney is suspended on consent, service of an order to show cause is unnecessary, and the attorney may be immediately suspended. See generally id. R. 9. Further, the Court has the inherent authority to oversee membership in its bar and safeguard the public interest. See Chambers v. NASCO, Inc., 501 U.S. 32, 43 (1991) (recognizing that “a federal court has the power to control admission to its bar and to discipline attorneys who appear before it” (citation omitted)). Accordingly, it is Case 1:26-mc-23967 Document 4 Entered on FLSD Docket 07/22/2026 Page 2 of 2 CASE NO. 26-23967-MC-ALTONAGA ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows: 1. Within fourteen (14) days of receipt of this Order, Mr. Sarkin shall notify the Clerk of Court of any active cases where he appears as counsel or co-counsel of record in this District. 3. The Clerk shall STRIKE Mr. Sarkin from the roll of attorneys authorized to practice before this Court and to immediately revoke his CM/ECF credentials. 4.
