IN RE: KENNAN GEORGE DANDAR
FLORIDA BAR # 289698
___________________________________/ Jul 22, 2026
ORDER OF SUSPENSION WPB
On June 1, 2026, the Supreme Court of Florida suspended Kennan George Dandar from
the practice of law. See generally Fla. Bar v. Dandar, Nos. SC2026-0164, SC2026-0244, 2026
WL 1534304 (Fla. June 1, 2026). On June 2, 2026, the Clerk of Court entered an Order to Show
Cause [ECF No. 2], providing Mr. Dandar 30 days to explain why reciprocal discipline should not
be imposed. (See generally June 2, 2026 Order). The Clerk sent the materials to Mr. Dandar’s
last known addresses, and one package was signed with an illegible signature. (See Return of
Service [ECF No. 3] 1).1
Under Attorney Rule 8(a) of the Southern District of Florida Rules Governing the
Admission, Practice, Peer Review, and Discipline of Attorneys (“Attorney Rules”), attorneys
admitted to practice before this Court must promptly notify the Clerk if they are disciplined by
another court. See S.D. Fla. Att’y R. 8(a). Once the time to respond to an order to show cause
has lapsed, Attorney Rule 8(d) authorizes the Court to impose reciprocal discipline or any other
sanction it deems appropriate.2 See S.D. Fla. Att’y R. 8(d).

Local Rule 11.1(g) of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida obligates members of
this Bar to update their contact information within seven days of any change, warning that “failure to
comply shall not constitute grounds for relief from deadlines imposed by Rule or by the Court.” S.D. Fla.
L.R. 11.1(g). Section 3D of the Court’s CM/ECF Administrative Procedures reiterates this obligation.
See CM/ECF Admin. P. § 3D (requiring users to “maintain current contact information”); see also S.D. Fla.

Further, the Court has the inherent authority to oversee membership in its bar and safeguard
the public interest. See Chambers v. NASCO, Inc., 501 U.S. 32, 43 (1991) (recognizing that “a
federal court has the power to control admission to its bar and to discipline attorneys who appear
before it” (citation omitted)).
Accordingly, it is
ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows:
1. Effective immediately, Mr. Dandar is suspended from the practice of law in the U.S.
District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He may not resume practice before this Court
unless and until reinstated by court order. See S.D. Fla. Att’y R. 12(a).
2. Within fourteen (14) days of receipt of this Order, Mr. Dandar shall notify the Clerk
of Court of any active cases in which he appears as counsel or co-counsel of record in this District.
3. The Clerk shall STRIKE Mr. Dandar from the roll of attorneys authorized to practice
before this Court and to immediately revoke his CM/ECF credentials.
4. The Clerk shall promptly SERVE this Order via certified mail to Mr. Dandar’s court
record address and any addresses on file with The Florida Bar.
DONE AND ORDERED in Miami, Florida, this 22nd day of July, 2026.
