APPOINTMENT OF KYLE F. REARDON MISCELLANEOUS
GENERAL ORDER 25-08
AS CHIEF MAGISTRATE JUDGE
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT: Magistrate Judge Kyle F. Reardon is hereby
appointed as Chief Magistrate Judge for the District of Alaska. Unless earlier terminated,
his term as Chief Magistrate Judge shall run for four years beginning September 4, 2025.
As Chief Magistrate Judge, his duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Meet with merit selection panels considering candidates for magistrate judge
positions to brief panel members on the authority of magistrate judges and their
judicial duties;
2. Attend meetings of groups at the circuit level as representative of the District
Court’s magistrate judges
3. Make recommendations on policies and rule changes that affect the work of
magistrate judges;
4. Represent the magistrate judges at any District Court meeting; and
5. Assist part-time magistrate judges.
